  3. What is the Circulatory System The circulatory system is about the heart and blood the blood pumps blood all threw out the body. The blood is transportation for the blood cells hormones and nutrients which is good for your body. There are two types of blood cells red ones and white ones the white blood cells fight colds and diseases all threw out the body. The red blood cells go through your body delivering oxygen to the muscles. The brain tells the heart to speed up or slow down so you don’t get to much or too little of an amount of blood.   4. Parts and functions The heart is the most important muscle in the system; it has four chambers two on the top and two on the bottom. The heart beats around 100,000 times a day. The other two main parts are the blood and blood vessels. The blood is a special body fluid that your body needs enough of to stay healthy and stay alive. The blood carries away waste to the digestive system which gets rid of it the blood vessels are hollow tubes that transport blood all threw out the body. Return to Exhibit

  5. Ailments and Conditions Some medical problems that people could have are a heart attack that is when your heart stops working which is very dangerous. Another one is angina is a pain in the heart when it doesn’t get enough blood. High cholesterol is a combination of fat and steroids. High blood pressure is the same thing as high cholesterol. Congenital heart defects is when a babies heart isn’t fully formed at birth so you half to get work done on it Return to Exhibit

  6. How to stay Healthy In order to stop from having those problems you have to be healthy. To eat healthy you have to eat lots of fruits and veggies that are different colours so that you get lots of nutrients. You also have to exercise like running, jogging, hockey, soccer, or anything active. You should exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. When you get thirsty water is the best for you and milk is the second (2) best. That is all I have to say about the circulatory system Return to Exhibit

  8. What is the Digestive System The digestive system is one of many systems in your body. Its job is to processes food we eat. And provides your body with the energy and nutrients you need while removing waste. That is the digestive system’s job. Here is an animation and a game of the digestive system Return to Exhibit

  9. Parts The digestive system has many parts. The digestive system is made of the mouth, the mouth is the start of the digestive system and breaks down food to a liquidly mixture. Pharynx both air and foods pass through it so it is part of digestive and respiratory systems. Epiglottis covers larynx to keep food out . The esophagus. The esophagus moves food to the stomach. Stomach, the stomach has three jobs to store the food eaten, to break down food into a liquidly mixture, and to move liquidly mixture to small intestine. The pancreas makes hormones to regulate blood glucose level and helps break down food. The gallbladder holds and releases bile to help digest fat in the foods you eat. The liver is the body’s largest internal organ it stores energy, rids food of toxins, and makes bile to break down fat. The small intestine is called small because of its width not its length it is actually longer than the large intestine. The small intestine is made of three parts, the duodenum is a receiving area for chemicals, jejunum where most nutrients are absorbed and turned into blood, and the ileum where remaining nutrients are absorbed. The Large intestine takes the rest of the water in the mix out and the waterless mix hardens and exits body through anus. The anus is the exit and end of the digestive system.   10. Functions The digestive system parts need function in order to do their jobs. The mouth has muscles that move teeth to grind food, and the tong is actually a muscle itself. The epiglottis has a tiny muscle that pushes down the tissue. The muscles on the side of the esophagus squeeze food down instead of it just falling down. In the stomach muscles contract and push together to crush the rest of the food. Muscles pump enzymes to the stomach through the pancreas. The gallbladder pumps the bile to the small intestine to break down fats. The liver filters food and bacteria sucks toxins out holds other vitamins to help rid toxins out of food. Nutrients in the food come in contact with many red blood vessels that surround small intestine. The Large intestine sucks all water out of your skin to your skin through your sweat glands. The muscles in your anus squeeze out the rest of the dried waste. And the digestive system goes again. Here is a video of the digestive system function.   11. Ailments and Conditions Like all systems sometimes the digestive system has problems. These problems may be stomach ache which is the most common it is just your stomach contracting, constipation happens when you haven’t gone to the bathroom in a while it is your waste that gets too hard and is hard to get out, dehydration happens when you don’t drink enough liquids it is very easy to get. The easiest way to stop it is drink more liquids. Another problem is colon cancer it is a bad cancer to have you can’t help it except by eating more foods that give you gas. High cholesterol is another bad one to have it means you have too much fat in your blood stream. Now you know I’m going to tell you how to prevent it. Return to Exhibit

  12. How to stay Healthy Keeping your digestive system healthy is an easy system to keep healthy. Number one eats lots of fibre. Number two drink lots of liquids your body will not absorb as much and will make waste passing your anus easy. Number three keep a healthy diet and maintain your weight. Number four don’t smoke or drink alcohol this does damage not only to the small parts but the whole body. Last wait 20 minutes after a meal until you know you are still hungry and eat many verities of colours. Now you are a digestive system expert. Return to Exhibit

  14. What is the Nervous System The Nervous System is made up of over a billion neurons and the brain is the boss of it all. You couldn’t live without your nervous system. Your spine is another part that is very important. It’s important for sending the signals to the brain. The part that connects the spine to the brain is the brain stem. Nerves are able to travel through your body at 200 miles per hour! The nerve cells will join together to make nerves that will then send messages. They are sent by marvels of chemistry and electricity. That sums up what your nervous system is. Return to Exhibit Video for Nervous system

  15. Parts The parts and organs that are involved in the nervous system are the brain, nerve cells, and your spinal cord. The parts that are in the brain are the cerebrum, cerebellum, the thalamus, and the brain stem. The most important organ of all is the brain because it reacts to the signal. Those are the parts and organs that make up the nervous system. Return to Exhibit

  16. Functions The parts or organs work together starting with the nerves receiving a signal. The nerve cells that got the signal travel up our spinal cord at 200 miles per hour up to the brain stem. The brain stem gives it to the brain. The brain will then interpret the signals then reacts which makes us realize what the object is or to stop doing something. After that is done the nerve cells go back down. The cerebrum that is in the brain controls the thinking part and the cerebellum controls balance, movement, coordination, and how the muscles work together. The thalamus controls all of the functions in your body that keeps you alive. The spinal cord acts as a highway for your nerves that can travel 200 miles per hour.   17. Ailments and Conditions These are some medical problems that can affect your nervous system. The first ailment that can happen is a concussion. Concussions are when you hit your head and your brain moves around inside the skull and hits the inside of your skull. Concussions can cause other ailments also like amnesia. Amnesia is when you can’t remember before or after the incident or you can’t remember your name. Another common ailment is a headache. Headaches don’t happen in the skull, they will actually happen inside blood and nerve cells. A really bad headache is called a migraine. Migraines are caused when your blood and oxygen drops. Then your brain will send a message about it and then that causes other blood veins to expand. Once they expand that causes blood veins to inflame and throb and that is what causes that pounding pain. You could also feel nauseas with a migraine. And the last one is a stroke. It is when not enough blood gets to the brain and nerves die. Those are some of the medical problems that can hurt your nervous system. Return to Exhibit

  18. How to stay Healthy This is how to stay healthy by protecting your brain. You can were a helmet when biking or a sport that requires a helmet. Another couple of ways to stay healthy is to wear a seatbelt when in a car in case of an accident and another is to take no drugs for sure because it may change your brain function. You should dive into only the deep end of a pool and in a lake check for any harmful objects under the water. Eat properly and dispose chemicals properly because some chemicals may contain neurotoxin which can kill or damage your nerve cells. What is the Skeletal & Muscular System • The skeletal and muscular systems give you structure and movement .The skeletal and muscular system is made up of the inner frame of bones and the muscles wrap around them. There is a group of muscles and bones that give our bodies structure and allow movement. We have over 600 muscles in our bodies. Muscles are made up of an elastic material. We have three different kinds of muscles which are called smooth, cardiac and skeletal muscles. Thousands of fibres make up your muscles. Your bones connect at the joints. A skeleton is the inner frame of your body. Another name for the cardiac muscle is myocardial. Your smooth and cardiac muscles work by themselves. You have cartilage in the joint of your bones. Your skeletal muscles can also be called your striated muscle. Your skeleton is what your muscles are on and it supports you organs and other body parts.   21. Parts Your vertebras are your back bones that are around your spinal cord and they protect it. Your teeth are your strongest bones and they crush your food for you. The skull is under the skin on your head and you brain is inside it. Your tibia, fibula and femur (your leg bones) make you walk and stand up. You’re humorous and radius (your arm bones) helps you pick up stuff. Your jaw is what moves your mouth to help you chew. Ribs are where your chest is and they are attached to your vertebras. Ribs begin at your Clavicle, Coracoclavicular Ligament and your sternum and go around the middle of your body and end at the back of your body.   22. Functions • Your heart is the most important muscle in your body. Your heart pumps by itself it never stops pumping. Your muscles pump your blood throughout your body. Your only control some of your muscles and the others work on their own. You can’t make your arm move with your smooth muscles. Your smooth muscles help you to throw up when you’re sick. You can’t control your smooth muscles. Your thick muscles pump out blood for you. Your skeletal muscles help you kick things. Your smooth muscles keep your eyes focused. You can control you skeletal muscles and they make things move. You can’t make a soccer ball move your brain tells it to move. Your skeletal muscles work together with your bones. Your tendons hold your skeletal muscles together. Each muscle has a different job like making you stand up. Your tongue is made up of more than one muscle. You have one deltoid in each arm. Your deltoids help your shoulders move around. Our brain controls our muscles and bones. When you are born you have over 300 bones. Your bones fuse together as you get older.   23. Ailments and Conditions You can break or fracture your bones. Your bone can be pulled out of the joint or socket. You can sprain you wrist or your ankle. Osteoporosis is a disease that makes your bones thin, weak and brittle and easier to fracture or break it. Your bones can get crushed into pieces.Muscular dystrophy is a disease that muscle wasting and makes you week.   24. How to stay Healthy Drink lots of milk to get calcium into your body, to make strong bones. Exercise to make your muscles strong. Eat healthy foods on a regular basis and stay active. Don’t eat healthy food on a regular basis. When your muscles get stronger from working out you can lift heavier things. Eating unhealthy food won’t give you energy or protein. Return to Exhibit

  26. What is the Respiratory System The respiratory system is a system to help you breath. Without the respiratory system you wouldn’t be able to live. You need oxygen to give energy to your blood cells. So the respiratory system even helps the other systems by giving the blood cells energy. The respiratory system always begins with the nose and mouth. The nose and mouth are a very important part to the respiratory system. The respiratory system is very important to your body.   27. Parts Parts: The respiratory system is made up of both your nose and your mouth. After the nose and mouth, the next part involved in respiration is the windpipe also known as the trachea. After air moves down the trachea, an area called the bronchus appears. This is where air is diverted into either the left or right lung.   28. Functions This is how your parts and organs work. The respiratory system begins with your nose and mouth. When you breathe you inhale air through your nose and mouth. After the nose and mouth the air goes to your trachea that is your wind pipe after the trachea the air goes to the bronchus that is what splits left and right to go into your lungs. Then you exhale the entire bad air/carbon dioxide out of your body. Then it repeats over and over again and that’s how you breathe. Return to Exhibit

  29. Ailments and Conditions Hi I am going to tell you about conditions and diseases your respiratory system can get. The first disease I am going to tell you about is a cancer respiratory system cancer. It is a very dangerous cancer and you might not even know if you have it so here are some of the symptoms shortness of breath, fever, chills, chest pain, fatigue, nasal discharge, bad breath and unintended weight loss. Those are the symptoms of respiratory cancer. Next I am going to tell you about asthma it is a condition that makes it very hard to breathe when you’re running around or playing a sport. When is hard for you to breath you take a puffer that is a type of medicine that you breath. Now I am going to tell you that if you smoke you have a good chance of getting respiratory cancer so don’t smoke. Return to Exhibit

  30. How to stay Healthy Hi I am going to talk to you about keeping your respiratory system healthy. The first thing you should know is to not smoke it is the worst thing you can do. Smoking makes your lungs go black and make it harder to breathe pulse it makes you have a shorter unhealthy life and no one would want that so don’t smoke. Make sure you exercise lots too because it helps your system stay fit and healthy. You can also get plants to keep the air pollution level down and that’s always good.
