Stages of cooperation’ development with EU 1993 – The Office of European Commission was opened in Ukraine. 1994 – Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. 1998 – The Strategy of Ukraine’s Integration into the EU. 2005 –Agreement on Ukraine’s participation in EU-led operations in crisis management between EU and Ukraine. 2007 – Ukraine – EU Military Committee Work Plan Later: Ukraine – Secretariat EU Council Work Plan in the ESDP sphere. 2009 – EU – Ukraine Association Agenda. 2010 – Participation in Baltic EU Battle Group 2010 – Participation in the EU-led Operation EUFOR ATALANTA. 2011 – Participation in HELBROC EU Battle Group. 2012 – Force training for EU-led operations. 2

Main directions of cooperation with EU: • support of the format of military and political dialogue between the leadership of MoD, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the EU Military Committee and the Secretariat of the EU Council; • preparation for participation in multinational peacekeeping operations; • involvement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the formation of EUBattle Groups; • education and training of the representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in the field of common security and defense policy); • use of Ukraine' airlift capabilities. 3

Partisipation in EU operations Participation in the EU anti-piracy operation "ATALANTA" Ukraine takes part in the operation since November 2010 by deploying an officer from the Ukrainian Naval Forces to the headquarter of operation (in Northwood, England) It was planed to deploy an aircraft An-26 from the Ukrainian Air Forces to the operation as a patrol and reconnaissance aircraft Preparation to deploy in 2014 frigate “HETMAN SAGAIDACHNY" with the helicopter KA-27 6

Training and education • One mechanized infantry battalion; • One airmobile infantry battalion; • Contribution to the LITPOLUKRBRIG; • One combat engineer battalion (sappers); • One road construction company; • One CBRN protection company; • One army aviation detachment of 7-Mi-24 and 8-Mi-8 helicopters (from 2016); • One ammunition transport company; • One Frigate; • Two Corvettes; • One Command and Control ship; • One Mine Hunter/Sweeper; • One Amphibious Transport Ship; • One Naval Infantry Battalion able to deploy and sustain one company; • One ocean-going rescue tug with EOD, engineering and SAR diving team; • One rescue paratroopers group; • One anti-sabotage divers team; • One PSYOPS tactical team; • One SOF Maritime Task Group; • Two IL-76 heavy transport aircraft (four by the end of 2015); • One AN‑26 medical evacuation aircraft; • One special operations land task group. 11
