  2. Objective: • Engage students, alumni, employees, donors and the public in a celebration of our history and impact on the community • Leverage the spotlight to attract more advocates to the college’s mission

Design Principles: • The 50th Anniversary Commemoration will “feel like Valencia” and be an authentic representation of who we are as a college and a community. • The 50th Anniversary Commemoration will celebrate our rich history, identify and honor our community impact, and inspire our future. • The 50th Anniversary Commemoration will add value to our community, students, and employees by creating events, activities, and publications that amplify our college mission, vision and values. • The 50th Anniversary Commemoration will result in deeper relationships with students, employees, and the community which will lead to greater investment of those stakeholder groups in the work of the college. • The celebration activities, events, etc. will reflect thoughtful stewardship of time, space, and money.

Proposed Tactics: • 50th Anniversary logo • Exterior signage – building and pole banners, including some along main thoroughfares (Kirkman, Morse, Valencia College Lane, U.S. Route 192, etc.) • Pull-up banners for use at events • Outdoor feather flags • Digital tactics: 50th Anniversary website Blogging (Valencia news site + Juice) Social media Online “store”with 50th logo, stationery, notecards, email signature, name badges, PPT • Tag existing ads with 50th anniversary logo/theme • T-shirts for Student Development office to use as giveaways at campus events • 50th anniversary logos on PVC card stock that attach to employee name badges • 50th Anniversary lapel pins • Magnets • Commemorative coasters • 50thanniversary poster • 50th anniversary video • 50th anniversary edition of Vitae magazine • Proclamations from government officials • Campus history tours • Student recognition scholarships (50 @ $1,000 each, funded by Foundation) • “50 Trees for 50 Years” tree planting to highlight sustainability efforts • Fundraising campaigns • Campus-developed publications and activities • Bookstore merchandise

  8. Budget Overview: • Plan incorporates existing events and marketing materials that can be tied into the 50th anniversary theme with no additional dollars spent • Incorporated in the budget are funds for campus-based celebrations • Proposed budget investment for new tactics: $292,038
