This study explores the perceptions of older primary pupils regarding geography as part of a cross-phase PGCE project conducted at the Institute of Education in 2006/07. Findings reveal that 54% find geography fun, with a significant portion (90%) believing in the potential for geography to help make the world a better place. Pupils express concerns about global issues like pollution, war, and poverty while also sharing optimistic views of a peaceful future. The study highlights their curiosity about different countries and their ability to identify their own location in the world.
