This study explores the implementation of diffuse priors within the XDB-SRA (Statistical Catch-at-Age) framework, focusing on the biomass estimation of various rockfish species, including Brown, China, and Copper Rockfish. Using catch-based methods, we adopt informative priors for Fmsy/M and Bmsy/B0. The methodology involves adjustments of prior distributions, sensitivity analyses, and posterior predictive distributions, allowing for effective relative targets and thresholds assessment. The findings contribute to better understanding the fishery dynamics in California's coastal regions.
