  5. Ghana’s Religion • Most people in Ghana are Christians. • 31.2 percent of the people believe in other Religions. • Ghana was the first African country to gain independence.

  6. Ghana’s Natural Resources • Ghana’s natural resources include: Gold , timber , industrial diamonds , fish , rubber , silver , salt , and limestone.

  7. Foods in Ghana • Fishers catch pike and catfish. • Below are a couple of recipes from Ghana: Palaver sauce, Groundnut stew, and Fish and Eggplant stew.

A recipe from Ghana Fish and Eggplant Stew Ingredients: 1 lb fresh fish fillets 1 chopped onion 1 chopped green pepper 2 tblsp cooking oil 16-ounce can cut tomatoes 1 peeled and diced eggplant 8-ounce can tomato sauce 1 cup water 1 half tsp salt Three fourth tsp ground red pepper 10-ounce cut okra Hot cooked rice To cook stew: 1.Saute all meats in cooking oil, until tender 2.Add veggies, spices, etc. 3.Simer over low heat 4.Serve with rice or potatoes

  9. Animals, people, and plants in Ghana Above is a African animal called a Dab Dab. It is grazing in the grass of a African mountain. Ghana has many different kinds of animals. The elephant is one of them. Ghana’s people love to celebrate and have parties to represent their freedom.
