  4. Why Are We Here Today? The BIG Picture… • 78% of children, ages 12 to 17, now have cell phones. • More than 50%of those are smartphones. • ~50% of smartphones purchased by teens are iPhones. • 36% increase from previous year in smartphones sold. (Pew Internet & American Life Project, 2013) • 44%of teens own tablet computers. 29% increase from last years sales. 72% of those are iPads. • 3 in 4 teens plan to buy an iPad in the next 6 months. (Apple Insider, 2013) But is there an even BIGGER PICTURE???

  7. Student Examples from SG’s Biology Class Students choose two jobs from the field of biology to compare and contrast. Students researched jobs using cell phones, tablets, and computers. Students produced two rough drafts. Rough #1 was a a written script. Rough draft #2 was a revised script with a rough version of their educreations video lesson. Each draft underwent peer review editing. Students turned in a final draft and final educreations video lesson.
