  2. Submission ‘Hupotasso’: to subordinate; to obey from: ‘hupo’: under, (i.e. of place) ‘tasso’: to arrange in an orderly manner; to assign (to a certain position)

  3. Wives, arrange yourselves under your husbands, in the same way that Christ arranged Himself under God…

  4. Arrange yourself under… Understand your place: Equal Essential Esteemed Assigned

  5. EQUAL 1 Peter 3:7: You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  6. Essential (1 Cor 11:11-12) However, in the Lord, neither is woman independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as the woman originates from the man, so also the man has his birth through the woman; and all things originate from God. Eph 5:23-24 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

ASSIGNED YOUR ROLE: Submit Eph. 5:22-24 Wives be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Col. 3:18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Titus 2:5 teach women…to be subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be dishonored.

  10. ASSIGNED YOUR ROLE: Submit We are assigned a role, we are created to suit that role. IT IS NOT AN INFERIOR ROLE! ! man-head, woman-heart man-lamp, woman-light Surgeon or scalpel manufactuer?

  11. Consequence of being “out of place” Unprotected:“umbrella” Prov 27:8 Like a bird that wanders from her nest, So is a [woman] who wanders from her home. Two-headed body = monster

  12. ARRANGE YOURSELF Fit his plans: Be available to him Honor him: His position: always His person: whenever you can Words, Attitudes, Actions, Desires (Opposite: Nagging, Complaining) Prov. 21:9, 21:19, 25:24, 27:15

  13. ARRANGE YOURSELF Respect Him: Eph. 5:33 …and let the wife see to it that she respect her husband. Obey him: He will give account for Decisions You will give account for Submission Encourage Him: Prov. 31:12 She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.

  14. ARRANGE YOURSELF Promote Him: Prov. 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. Love Him: Titus 2:4 Teach younger women to love their husbands… Pray for Him

  15. How does Scripture say we are to Submit? “In the same way” as Christ submitted to the cross 1 Peter 3:1

  16. Submit as Christ commit no sin: no resistance, no resentment, no rebellion no deceit: honest; to him; about him; not manipulative, don’t misrepresent situations don’t revile in return: don’t argue back, don’t badmouth, don’t blame, don’t accuse

  17. SUBMIT AS CHRIST: don’t threaten: can be done without words. entrust yourself to God: if you honor husband, God will take care of him, if you resist, you will be in God’s way. Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

  18. SUBMIT SO THAT If they are disobedient to the Word: Lost, Carnal, Not measuring up? Not nourshing, Not cherishing? They may be won: Without a word By your chaste behavior By your respectful behavior
