  3. Verse 1 • Transition with a great message • For us today: Jesus is with the church if it follows the mission

  4. John’s Doubts • Why did John doubt? • John wanted Jesus to move

  5. What John understood about the work of the Messiah • Prosperity under the King of Peace • The Messiah would be a new Moses • The triumph of the Son of Man • The wicked dead will not rise to join the Kingdom of Heaven • The Messiah’s kingdom is to be established on the risen righteous Hebrews • The Son of Man will judge the world • The members of the Kingdom of Heaven will resemble the Messiah

  6. For us today • FIRST: Patience • God works in God’s way and time • SECOND: Individual choice to follow Jesus
