Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010H.R. 2847 • The House passed the Jobs for Main Street Act to create jobs • Redirects $48.3 billion from Wall Street to rebuild roads and bridges, modernize public buildings, and clean our air and water • Two major areas of opportunity for businesses under the bill if passed: • Contracting with government to provide goods and services • Enhancements to existing tax and loan programs, plus extension of loan guarantee and bonding programs Tribal Strategies, Inc.

Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010 $48 billion for infrastructure projects that create jobs: • $27.5 billion for highways • $8.4 billion for transit • $500 million for Airport Improvement Program grants • $800 million for Amtrak fleet modernization • $1 billion for clean water state revolving funds • $1 billion for drinking water grants • $2 billion for school and public housing rehabilitation • $715 million for Army Corps of Engineers projects • $100 million in water supply projects by the Bureau of Reclamation.   4. Highway Funding • Funds distributed to states by the same formula used in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) • These funds on top of funding traditional program • Set-aside of $310,000,00 for Indian Reservation Roads Tribal Strategies, Inc.

DOT Bonding Assistance Program • DOT will reimburse surety bond premiums paid by disadvantaged business enterprises on ARRA DOT transportation projects • Eligibility requirements: • Must be DBE under DOT and SBA regulations • Must have a DUNs number • Registered with CCR • Providing goods or services or submitted proposal on a transportation project funded under ARRA • DOT website: bap.arra@dot.gov. • Program expires Sept. 30, 2010 • Extension proposed in Jobs for Main Street bill Tribal Strategies, Inc.
