  1. HOMEWORK Due this time next week. Complete your Black Death medical report on paper. Make sure you follow the instructions on the handout and include everything you’ve been asked to!

  2. ACTIVITY - COMPLETE FOR HOMEWORK! • Pretend you are a medieval doctor working in Yorkshire in 1348. You are puzzled and panicked by the appearance of a mysterious illness. Your fellow villagers – rich and poor - are showing a strange collection of symptoms, and dying violent and painful deaths. You feel powerless to stop this awful disease! • What to do: write a medical report about this strange disease. You must write it as if you are the doctor. You must include… • A short intro describing when you are writing the report and what is going on around you (use your imagination + knowledge to describe this!) • A description of the symptoms you have seen in your patients (see textbook). Add drawings to illustrate these symptoms. Draft in your book. Produce the final version on paper (you can use the computer). • What you think the causes of the disease are (remember, they didn’t know what we know today about rats and fleas!) • What you think needs to be done to stop the disease from spreading (remember – germs had not yet been discovered in 1348…but they had lots of strange ideas about cures! Put these cures in your report. You could make up your own weird cure, too!)
