  2. Bethany Christian Services Strategic Priorities Our discussions this morning will focus on the strategy formation and execution of our strategic priorities.

  4. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

  6. Bethany Christian Services Strategic Priorities For 2006 we will established nine strategic priorities. Four are new initiatives and five are extensions of priorities started in 2005. • These nine strategic priorities are being incorporated into the Balanced Scorecards of each branch. • The Balanced Scorecard provides us a visible report on a monthly or quarterly basis of our performance in achieving strategic priorities.

  8. Infant Adoption Strategy Updated manuals and structured training will lead to a clearer focus and message regarding adoption. Internal processes will be evaluated and refined as needed to reach out to both expectant parents and prospective adoptive parents, including payment of birthparent expenses.

  9. Infant Adoption Strategy • A multiple-layer marketing plan will be developed, which will include the review, revision and creation of marketing materials, improved utilization of the Internet, and development of effective marketing tools for staff use.

  10. Marketing Bethany’s Services and Image Bethany will define a branding strategy and provide brand marketing materials to offices. Additionally, we will provide quality marketing resources for branch-specific needs.

Marketing Bethany’s Services and Image Strategy • Marketing has created branch specific international packets that will be used by all offices and distributed centrally. • The Marketing Department has held phone conferences with virtually each office and is developing advertising and marketing plans for 2006.

  12. Marketing Bethany’s Services and Image Strategy • The Marketing Director will establish specific target demographics for each major customer segment to facilitate more effective local and national advertising efforts.

  13. Contribution Revenue Bethany’s Advancement Department, with each Branch Office will increase gift revenue in 2006 by 10% over 2005.

  14. Contribution Revenue Strategy • We will communicate to donors nationwide the vision of Bethany as a world-wide ministry to encourage increased donations to both the local office and our world-wide ministry. • We will increase new donor acquisition through increased personal donor contacts.

  15. Contribution Revenue Strategy • We will invite each Bethany board member to give and participate in fundraising in 2006. • We will increase our "ask" to foundations and other businesses to support our ministry.

  16. Embryo Adoption Bethany will increase the number of Embryo Adoption Family assessments that are processed and forwarded to NEDC and Snowflakes in 2006 by 50% over this year.

  17. Embryo Adoption Strategy • We will implement our embryo adoption awareness campaign, which is funded by a 2-year, $321,000 per year HHS Grant to achieve this objective.

Embryo Adoption Strategy • We will develop a training curriculum for all staff on how to do embryo adoption family assessments. • We will develop a program manual that will include policies, procedures and protocols, empowering staff to be proficient in doing embryo family assessments and counseling.

  19. International Adoption Bethany will increase its international adoptive placements in 2006 by 15% over 2005.

  21. International Adoption Strategy • We will enhance training for branch staff to improve Bethany’s service delivery to adoptive families. • We will conduct an assessment of three additional countries to establish additional international adoption programs in 2006.

  22. International Adoption Strategy • We will collaborate with Marketing and I.T. to improve our customer service to adoptive parents.

  23. Christian Conciliation Bethany will develop Christian Conciliation as Bethany’s way to resolve conflict internally and with those whom we serve.

Christian Conciliation Strategy • Bethany will work with Peacemaker Ministries to develop a plan for the implementation of Christian Conciliation at Bethany. • Bethany will integrate mediation and arbitration provisions into agreements and contracts with its clients. This will be done with legal consultation in cooperation with Bethany’s insurance carrier.

  25. Christian Conciliation Strategy • Training will be provided to staff and manuals will be developed for staff and board members to implement Christian Conciliation in all of our offices.

  26. Church Partnerships Bethany will develop partnerships with Christian church congregations and denominations world-wide.

  27. Church Partnerships Strategy • The Marketing and Advancement Departments will provide leadership in the creation of a job description for church ambassadors and create materials for them to use in their role.

Church Partnerships Strategy • The Marketing and Advancement Departments will coordinate the creation of materials that promote Bethany’s church partnerships. • The Directors of Operations will work with each branch office to develop a measurable implementation plan integrated into the Balanced Scorecard.

  29. Church Partnerships Strategy • The Leadership Team will develop a strategy for achieving denomination endorsements and opportunities for denomination-wide communication.

  30. International Family Permanency Bethany will actively work to improve child care and provide alternatives of care to improve permanency for children worldwide.

  31. International Family Permanency Strategy • Bethany will dialogue with leaders in countries where need and opportunity for improved child care services exist. • Bethany will initiate proposals to funding sources for the development of alternative child care.

International Family Permanency Strategy • Bethany will mobilize the church community by way of education, partnerships and ministry trips as a significant outreach to the underserved children of the world. • Bethany will partner with the Christian community in developing children’s services, including foster care and adoptive families.

  33. Post Adoption Bethany will develop a comprehensive, agency-wide post adoption treatment program.

Post Adoption Strategy • Bethany will develop a post-adoption education model to assist families and address attachment problems. • The “Together We Are Their Hope” campaign will focus on raising funds for the construction of a residential treatment and resource center. This will be a national center for assessment and short-term crisis intervention and an international center for training and consultation.

Post Adoption Strategy • The Attachment Regulation of emotion and core Competency (ARC) model will be used to guide the treatment of children in this program and in our branch offices. • Training materials will be developed for Bethany-wide use in the assessment and treatment of children for post adoption services.

  36. Post Adoption Strategy • Bethany will develop a network of therapists in all Bethany locations who meet the criteria of experience, training and expertise to provide services to children.
