  14. STANDARD 10.5: CONCEPTS, PRINCIPLES & STRATEGIES OF MOVEMENT A. Understand that there are many ways to move our body such as locomotor,nonlocomotor and manipulative B. Know and demonstrate locomotor movements such as walk, run, hop, jump, leap, gallop, slide and skip Ways People Move ABC Book ~ Students brainstormed ways people move including different types of transportation on a word map. ~Students recited poems, read a story , and learned about different ways people move and transportation. Students read The Van and Big Rigs in The Harcourt Language Arts program. ~Students then brainstormed ways people move or types of transportation that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Responses were recorded on an alphabet sheet on the electronic whiteboard. ~Students were assigned a letter of the alphabet and selected a type of transportation or way people move that begins with that letter. ~Students created a picture on Tux Paint to illustrate their letter. ~Pictures were saved and then transferred to a powerpoint presentation.
