Both PHP and ASP.NET are open source technologies. Both technologies further help small businesses to build a variety of custom web applications efficiently.

  4. But PHP is a server-side programming language, whereas ASP.NET is a server-side web application framework. The scripts written in PHP are executed on the web server, translated into HTML, and sent to web browsers for displaying to the users. On the other hand, ASP.NET is designed with features to simplify and speed up development of web applications, web services, and web APIs.
