  2. What is New Lease Lettings • New Lease Lettings is a pilot scheme that was funded through the Welsh Government with the aim of increasing the quality of housing available to single vulnerable adults. • Working closely with targeted agencies, New Lease Lettings aims to make private rented accommodation more accessible to vulnerable adults threatened with or experiencing homelessness.

  3. What is New Lease Lettings To obtain the properties for New Lease Lettings we offer a package most Landlords find hard to refuse: • Lease for 3 years with guaranteed rental income whether the property is occupied or not • Complete Housing Management package including repairs and maintenance • The support to help maintain a successful tenancy.

  4. Progress Since the scheme began 3 years ago we have 28 properties signed up to the scheme: • 15 in Caerphilly • 13 in Blaenau Gwent These properties are situated all over the Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent Boroughs

  5. Referral We currently work various agencies for Referrals: • Gwalia Care & Support • Caerphilly Drug & Alcohol Team • Caerphilly WomensSerivces • SolasCymru • Gofal But we are constantly looking to expand our referral network as the demand for the scheme continues to grow. And here’s how you can do it…

  6. How to make a Referral To make a referral couldn’t be easier: • Fill out one of our Referral & Risk Assessment Form. Remember the more detail the better! • Getting it to us: • Email: jwilliams@uwha.co.uk • Fax: 02920 858 110 FAO Jessica Williams • Post: Y Borth 13 Beddau Way Caerphilly CF83 2AX

  7. What’s Next? Once we have received your Referral we conduct a Panel Meeting who include: • Me (Jessica Williams), Supported Housing Officer for United Welsh • Sue Cousins, Principal Housing Officer for Caerphilly Council • Helena Preece, Bond Scheme Co-Ordinator for Gwalia Care & Support Here we decide the applicants succession within the New Lease Lettings Scheme.

  8. A New Start Once the applicant has been accepted onto the Scheme, placed onto our waiting list, then offered a property the scheme then provides/ requires: • A Tenancy for a maximum of 2 years • 4 – 6 weekly visits from the Housing Officer to help maintain tenancy • Regular visits from the Support Provider The Scheme is not offered on a Permanent basis but as a stepping stone towards independent living.
