  1. HO CHI MINH (1890-1969)

  2. Ho Chi Minh's real name is Nguyen Sinh Cung. He was born in Nghe An Province in 1890 and passed away in Hanoi. Add Your Main Heading

  3. His mother's name is Hoang Thi Loan and his father is Nguyen Sinh Sac. He had 3 siblings: Nguyen Sinh Khiem, Nguyen Sinh Nhuan and Nguyen Thi Thanh. He didn't have a wife in his whole life. He went to many different countries in the world and changed his name until over 200 times. He used to sudy in International Lenin School.

He led the Viet Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the battle of Dien Bien Phu. He officially stepped down from power in 1965 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for those Vietnamese fighting for his cause—a united, communist Vietnam—until his death. After the war, Saigon, the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Ho Chi Minh.

  5. Despite being the prime minister-cum-the president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, he lived a frugal and humble life. He didn’t choose to live in the Presidential Palace but a stilt house at the back of the palace, which is today known as the Presidential Palace Historical Site. His hobbies included reading, gardening, feeding fish and visiting schools and children’s homes. He’s such a good role model for me to learn from.
