This study highlights the integration of Quad Council Public Health Nursing (PHN) competencies within baccalaureate granting programs in New York State. Despite 72% of surveyed respondents being familiar with these competencies, only 14% utilized them as a framework for course design. The findings reveal significant gaps in the inclusion of essential competencies such as public policy and financial planning in curricula. This study calls for a strengthened partnership between public health leadership and academia to enhance the preparation of a skilled public health nursing workforce.
