Welcome to Fourth Grade

Join us in Fourth Grade for an engaging year filled with new learning adventures! This year, we will implement a fresh math curriculum with innovative strategies, and ongoing information will be shared to support your child's learning at home. We will delve into Harcourt stories, conduct weekly tests, and tackle literature studies in reading. Writing will focus on crafting stories and essays with effective organization techniques. In addition to academics, students will explore Arizona's history, geography, and government while participating in fun field trips. Let's make it a memorable year!

  1. Welcome to Fourth Grade Get ready for a great year.

  2. 4th Grade Math • We are starting a new math curriculum this year. Some of the strategies will look different. Information will be sent home periodically to help you and your child with these. • If you have questions, please let us know.

  3. 4th Grade Reading • Harcourt stories • Weekly tests & assignments • Literature studies • The majority of AR reading will be done at home.

  4. 4th Grade Writing • Develop stories & essays using thinking maps • Organize writing using the Write From the Beginning program • Be able to write using all of the six traits • Weekly spelling tests

  5. Social Studies Science Electricity Land and Water Animal Studies Health • Arizona studies • NativeAmericans • History • Geography • Government

  6. 4th Grade Responsibilities • Agenda • Daily math practice • Daily reading practice • Daily spelling practice • Follow six pillars of character • Turn in all work on time
