  2. Checklist Origin • Career Gateway Pilot 2005-2008 • 10 programs with transitioning success—5 each 1st two Program Years • Agencies/students funded • Post-secondary collaborators • Identification of necessary skills • Evaluation of pilot success

  3. In this session, we will identify: • Skills expected of post-secondary learners. • Individual learning needs that may/may not include just academics. • Appropriate, effective learning formats. • Resources—there are many available--FREE!!!!!

  4. Expected Academic Skills Understanding Learning During Lectures Preparing for Class After Taking Notes Before Reading Preparing for Testing While Reading Computer/Internet While Questioning Math English/Writing

  5. Expected Individual Needs • Financial Aid • Labor Market • School Requirements • Preparing Yourself/Building Support
