Winter Clothes Storage, Simplified

As the weather begins to warm up, it is time to start thinking about storing winter clothes in the attic, basement, or upper shelves of our closets to make room for spring and summer essentials. Store your winter wardrobe in a cool, dark place, avoiding direct sunlight and stuffy air. A clean shelf in a closet or garage works perfectly. Help keep the shape of your shoes and accessories by stuffing them with tissue paper, toilet paper, or paper towels. If you are interested in having an item dry cleaned check our services, Dry Cleaners Durango, CO provide best dry cleaning and laundry services. 1. Winter Clothes Storage, Simplified Pull out all your winter clothes and separate them into three piles: wash, dry-clean, and good to go. Don't forget your hats, scarves, and gloves. A thorough laundering can also help to eliminate stains that may be invisible now, but that will appear in six months, when it may be too late to get them out. Poke a few holes in them, or cover stacks of sweaters with old, clean cotton pillowcases or sheets to protect them from dust when they're stored on a shelf. Pack the heaviest items on the bottom, the lightest on top. If you have room in a closet, stow garments such as dresses, coats, and silk or leather items on wooden or padded hangers. Store bins and bags in a cool, dark, dry, and ventilated area— perhaps under a bed or in a guest room. Drop cedar blocks, balls, or sachets into the storage containers, and slip cedar rings on hangers. Source: www.realsimple.com w w w . k e l l y s d r y c l e a n e r s . c o m
