Una base de datos es una coleccion organizada de informacion estructurada, o datos, tipicamente almacenados electronicamente en un sistema de computadora. <br><br>Algunas de sus principales caracteristicas son:<br><br>No emplean ninguna jerarquia.<br>Facilita tanto la busqueda como la modificacion posterior.<br>Utiliza un espacio menor de almacenamiento.<br>Tiene acceso a grandes cantidades de informacion.
