  1. Remote Access Work from any location into your office PC

  2. Before you Start… • Before you proceed with this configuration, please be sure to contact EAS Computing, so your firewall can be properly set up in order to allow your connection. They will also verify you have the required account on vorlon.eas.gatech.edu. Please submit your request to: computing@eas.gatech.edu Not called yet! Already called!

  3. Start by… • Opening Secure CRT. Don’t have it? Click here to download and install • The first time you open the program, you’ll see this screen. If you don’t see it, go to file > connect (circled in red) and you’ll see this screen.

  4. In this screen… • Click on “Quick Connect” (circled in red) and you’ll see the previous screen

  5. Fill in the blanks… • For the “Hostname ” (circled in red) enter: vorlon.eas.gatech.edu • And for “Username” (circled in green) enter your GT username. • Click on

  6. You’ll be prompted for you password. Click on • Click on the options menu • Choose Session Options

  7. At this window, click on “Port Forwarding” (circled in red) and then click on

  8. Some Special Properties • Assign a name for this set of properties (circled in red) • Enter the port of your computer to communicate using SSH as 4000 (circled in green) • Be sure to click on the Destination Host (circled in purple) and to fill the port for remote connection as 3389 (circled in blue) • Fill out the application part (circled in brown) with the path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\mstsc.exe

  9. Click , and again click , so you can save your settings. • Then, do a RIGHT click over your connection, so it will display the reconnection menu. • Then select Reconnect (circled on green). You’ll be prompted for your password. Enter it and click

  10. The window displayed on the right will appear. Enter localhost:4000 in the Computer box if it is not there • The log on screen for your office computer will appear. Log on as if you were sitting right in front of it. You can start working now!
