  2. Overview • Philosophy: What do you believe about Technology in Education? • What is your strategy to get there?

  3. Needs Based Cycle

  4. ECA Technology Strategy • In Escuela Campo Alegre, Technology is a tool not a subject. Like a pen on paper, without content it is meaningless. Teaching and learning is transformed and enhanced through the use of technology. It provides a means of gathering information at the moment it is needed and wherever it is needed. This strategy removes the classroom walls and makes each teacher and student mobile collaborators and creators of knowledge, not just knowledge consumers. Technology offers real world authenticity by integrating and bridging subject areas through the use of constructive learning projects. Accountability is a critical part of this puzzle. ECA teaches and assesses technology standards for both students and faculty within the content area. Technology is used to maintain and improve communication between all members of the ECA community.

  5. Faculty Technology Skills • The instructional faculty and staff shall possess the technology skills necessary to teach and assess all the grade level technology benchmarks that they are responsible for teaching. In addition, they shall possess all the necessary skills to complete the necessary administrative tasks that are required of them as part of their job description. Instructional faculty shall also be able to use instructional technology to enhance the teaching and learning process. From the ECA Technology Plan

  6. Self-Evaluation Rubric • A Faculty Technology Skills Self-Evaluation Rubric defining and evaluating the skills instructional faculty should possess shall be administered to all instructional faculty and staff at the beginning of each school year. The results shall be analyzed by the IT Director and reported to divisional Principals and the Superintendent. From the ECA Technology Plan

  7. Technology Professional Development • A professional development program shall be developed and implemented annually by the IT Director in conjunction with the Division principals based upon the needs resulting from the annual administration of the Faculty Technology Skills Self-Evaluation Rubric. In addition, special training needs arising from technology initiatives or curricular programs shall be planned and provided for. From the ECA Technology Plan
