  12. SPECIAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS MEDICINE AND MEDICAL SCIENCES Special entry requirements for medicine and medical science courses at the University of Newcastle, University of New England, the University of Sydney, UNSW Sydney, Charles Sturt University and Western Sydney University for 2020 are now available. Download the fact sheet here or from UAC’s website. University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) UCAT has replaced UMAT for entry into most medical and dental courses and some medical science courses in 2020. Students need to check the course description to see if the course they’re interested in requires them to sit UCAT. Registrations for UCAT are open now and closes at midnight on 17 May 2019

  13. CHANGES TO EDUCATIONAL ACCESS SCHEMES (EAS) NEW DISADVANTAGE CATEGORY - OOHC There is a new disadvantage status for EAS. If students are living (or have previously lived) in out-of-home care and are applying for university through UAC, students can have these circumstances considered in support of their application. Download the fact sheet for more information. CHANGES TO SCHOOLS LISTS UAC will be using the Socio-Economic Index for Areas (SEIFA) (developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics) to help low-SES students get into uni in 2020. It is expected that this initiative will significantly increase the number and percentage of low-SES applicants who are eligible for equity adjustments, which could make the difference to getting into uni.Read more

  14. LAW UNSW Law Admission Test (LAT) LAT is a professionally designed and marked selection test developed to assess the types of aptitudes and skills that are critical to success in the Law program at UNSW Sydney. 15. HOW UAC OFFERS WORK • You can receive ONLY ONE offer in each offer round. • That offer will be to the highest preference for which you are eligible and competitive enough. • You can Select up to FIVE course preferences. • Main offer rounds for Year 12 students: • 19th December 2019 • 10th January 2020 • For example, if you’re eligible and competitive enough for the first preference you’ve listed, you’ll be made an offer to that course only. • If you're not made an offer to your first preference, but are eligible and competitive enough for your second preference, you’ll be made an offer to your second preference and so on.

  16. UNIVERSITY Schools Recommendation Scheme • SRS applications for 2019 admissions will open on Wednesday 3rd April and close on Monday 30th September 2019. You must apply to UAC FIRST! • Apply through University Admission Centre (UAC) The following 14 institutions will be participating in SRS in 2020–21. Australian Catholic University Australian National University Charles Sturt University International College of Management, Sydney Macquarie University National Art School SAE Creative Media Institute University of Canberra University of New England University of Newcastle University of Technology Sydney Western Sydney University University of Sydney Top Education Institute

  17. There are two types of offers available under SRS. • Successful applicants may receive: • a conditional offer (where there are additional criteria you must meet, such as a minimum ATAR, portfolio or audition) • an unconditional offer (where there are no further requirements for you to meet). • See the ‘Offers’ section in the institution criteria in the SRS Handbook • KEY SRS DATES • Applications open: 3 April 2019   • Applications close: 30 September 2019   • Offers released:14 November 2019

  18. SRS offers will be made via UAC on Thursday 14 November 2019. SRS is automatically linked to your course preferences in your UAC application CHECK if you have been successful VIA UAC on Thursday 14 November 2019 Follow instructions Conditional SRS offers will only be made in November Round 1, Thursday 14 November 2019 Institutions consider your course preferences according to the order in which you list them. All your preferences are given equal consideration. UAC does not contact applicants who have been unsuccessful in receiving an SRS offer.

  19. Notification • If you are made a conditional offer, you’ll receive an email to let you know that you have correspondence from UAC. • To access your offer, log in to your application on UAC’s website. • To convert your conditional offer to an unconditional offer, you must: • meet the criteria stipulated in the letter • meet all other institution requirements for that course • include the course in your list of preferences by midnight on Thursday 19 December 2019. • It is possible to receive more than one conditional offer, but only one of them can become an unconditional offer on 23 December 2019 (December Round 2).

  20. If you receive more than one conditional offer, once your ATAR is released you can determine if you meet the criteria for any of your conditional offers. You will then need to decide which course preference you would most like to convert into an unconditional offer and order your preferences accordingly by midnight on Thursday 19 December 2018.

  21. Early Entry Offers Early Entry Offers Early Entry Offers Main Round – most offers Main Round – most offers

  22. Unconditional SRS offers • Unconditional SRS offers can be made in any round from November Round 1, on 14 November 2019, onwards. • You may only receive one unconditional offer in each round. If you’re not selected for an unconditional offer for your first preference, you’ll be considered equally with all other eligible applicants for your second preference and so on. • Notification • You’ll receive an email to let you know that you’ve received an offer. • To access your offer, log in to Check Your Offers on UAC • To accept your unconditional offer, follow the instructions set out in your offer letter. You must accept your offer by the date specified by the institution, otherwise you may lose your offer.

  23. Receiving further offers Once you’ve received an unconditional offer, you can’t be made an unconditional offer to any lower course preferences in the next round unless you change your preferences. So, if you receive an unconditional offer to your first preference, you won’t be considered for further offers in subsequent rounds unless you move that course down to the bottom of your list or remove it entirely. (Before you do this, don’t forget to accept the course you’ve already been offered!) As long as you have accepted an offer, removing it from your list of preferences will not affect your existing offer.

  24. INSTITUTION CRITERIA • Participating institutions may take one or more of the following criteria into account when considering applicants for SRS offers: • your school’s rating of your aptitude & abilities in areas of study • your Year 11 studies • EAS application (if applicable) • You may also need to meet other requirements set by an institution, such as a minimum ATAR. Some institutions require you to upload institution-specific documents.
