Narrative Periods 2-4
Brainstorm a list of your personal “basic principles,” values, or rules to live by. • List them.
Next, think of a time in your life when you either did, or intentionally, did not follow your “basic principles.” did you betray a trust or not stand up for what was right? Did you take a risk and “do the right thing?” How did this incident affect you and your friend or family member? Were there any lasting effects of the decision? How did your relationship change with that person? Have you tried to make up for a former wrongdoing?
Review your list and decide which incident you want to write about. Try to remember all of the details of the situation; where you were, who was there, what were you doing at the time, was it hot or cold, inside or outside, and any other specific information. Then, write a descriptive narrative of what unfolded. Be sure to include any lasting effects to you in particular to your relationship.
