Objectives & Vocabulary • Solve quadratic equations by using the Quadratic Formula. • Determine the number of solutions of a quadratic equation by using the discriminant. • The Quadratic Formula (pg.652): The solutions of ax2+bx+c, where a≠0, are • Discriminant (pg.654): the part of the quadratic equation that is under the radical sign. Quadratic equations can have 2, 1, or no real solutions. If the discriminant is positive, the equation has two real solutions, if it equals 0, the equation has one real solution, and if it’s negative, the equation has no real solutions
