  2. About Higher Education in Poland treats: • the Act of 27 July 2005 • the Law on Higher Education

First degree studies • Vocationalstudiescarried out in high schoolthatprovideknowledge and skills in specificareas of education of bachelororengineer. • Science at the firstlevelstudiesrequirespriorcompletion of secondaryschool and passing of the finalexams, lasts from six to ten semesters (usuallysixsemesters, orthreeyears) and endsupdefending a thesis. Completion of thesestudiesgivesopportunity to continueeducation for the studies of the seconddegree.

  4. Second degree studies • Mastersdegreestudies in order to obtainexpertiseknowledge in a specificarea of ​​training, as well as preparation for creativework in a particularoccupation, leading to a master'sdegreeorequivalent.

  5. Uniform masters degree • Mastersdegree to whichcandidatesareadmittedpossession of the certificate of maturity, in order to obtainexpertise in a specificarea of ​​knowledge, as well as prepare for creativework, leading to a master'sdegreeorequivalenttitle, and theircompletiongivesopportunity to apply for admission of the third degree.

  6. Third degree studies • Doctoralstudies, on whichareadmittedcandidates with a master'sdegreeorequivalentdegree, in order to obtainadvancedknowledge in a specificareaordiscipline of science, preparingthem for independent research and creativeactivity and to obtaindoctoraldegrees.

  7. Postgraduate studies • Other than higher education and doctoral studies form of education designed for people with university higher education

  8. EDUCATION STANDARDS ON COURSE OF STUDY OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY • (Annex 79, the Higher Education Act):

  9. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS • First degreestudieslast not less than 6 semesters. Number of hours • Number of hours should not be less than 2200. • Number of ECTS (EuropeanCredit Transfer System) points

QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATES • humanistic attitude of openness and dialogue, respect for others, sensitivity to human needs - especially the disabled and requiring assistance, • the ability to use interdisciplinary knowledge about the regularity of human development, variations of organic, psychological, social and educational opportunities, rehabilitation and reintegration, • practical skills in a particular specialty, • knows how to independently identify and solve problems of education, rehabilitation and reintegration, • knows a foreign language at the level of language proficiency B2 European Framework of Reference for Languages

QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATES cont. • ability to use modern means of communication. • graduatesareprepared to work as: educator, teacher, teacherorspecialist co-organizing inclusive education, special-therapistteacher, specialistteacher of pedagogic, special-therapistteacher. • graduate is prepared to work in various institutions, including: educational facilities, specialist clinics, care facilities, education and rehabilitation, agendas of social services, health care and rehabilitation facilities, educational, government and judicial agendas. Preparing for work in educationrequires the completion of teaching specialty (in accordance with the standards of educationthatpreparethem to work as a teacher).

GROUP OF DIRECTIONAL CONTENTS Subjects of education in the field: • Neurophysiology • Development of Psychopathology • Fundamentals of Special Education • Fundamentals of DiagnosticPsychopedagogical • Didactics and specialmethodologies

  15. FRAMEWORK OF CONTENTS OF EDUCATION PRACTICE • Practice should last not less than 4 weeks. • Principles and form of practices establishes a unit of the University leading education.

  16. OTHER REQUIREMENTS • The education programs should include classes in physical education,foreign languages, technology of information • Educational programs should include contents expanding the general knowledge in an extent not less than 60 hours, which should be attributed to no less than 3 credits of ECTS • The education programs should foresee classes on intellectual property protection, occupational health and safety and ergonomics. • For the preparation of the final exam (including the preparation of the thesis, if it is provided by the program of education), student receives 10 credits of ECTS

  17. SECOND DEGREE STUDIES GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Second-degree studies last not less than four semesters. Number of hours should not be less than 800. The number of credits should not be less than 120.

  18. SECOND DEGREE STUDIES II. QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATE • advanced knowledge in humanities and developed a sense of sensitivity to human needs - especially the disabled and requiring assistance in the development, education and social functioning. • understands the role of theory in meeting pedagogical tasks and is able to independently analyze, interpret and use the knowledge possessed in practice. • has the ability to create a rational diagnostic contexts, coaching, education, rehabilitation and therapy • he has knowledge of the basic methodological instruments. • prepared to participate in research in the area of special education and to take the third degree studies (PhD)

SECOND DEGREE STUDIES QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATE • graduatesareprepared to workatposition: educator, teacher, teacherorspecialist co-organizing inclusive education, specialteacher-therapist, a specialist-educator, specialteacher-therapist. • graduatesareprepared to work in variousinstitutions, including: educationalfacilities, specialistclinics, carefacilities, education and rehabilitation, agendas of social services, rehabilitation, education and localgovernment and health service and the judiciary. • graduatesareprepared to work in educationalinstitutionsengaged in research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of specialeducation. • hasability to cooperate with otherprofessionals, teams and management of educationalposts
