  4. Paper 1 Reading There are 3 sections. Students only need to complete 2 sections. Each worth 10% of the subject mark. Section 1 (compulsory part) Section 2 (easier section) or Section 3 (more difficult section)

  5. Paper 2 Writing There will be 2 parts in this paper. Part A (10%) – short, guided writing (about 200 words) Part B (15%) – longer, more open-ended writing (about 400 words)

  6. Paper 3 Listening & Integrated Skills There are 3 sections. Students only need to complete 2 sections. Each worth 15% of the subject mark. Section 1 (compulsory part) Section 2 (easier section) or Section 3 (more difficult section)

  7. Paper 4 Speaking There are 2 parts. Part A Group Interaction Preparation :10 minutes, discussion: 8 minutes per group of four Part B Individual Response One minute per candidate

  8. SBA There are 2 parts. Part A (10%) A reading/viewing programme Four categories: print fiction, print non-fiction, non-print fiction, non-print non-fiction Group interaction or individual presentation Part B (5%) Elective modules Group interaction or individual presentation
