  2. Why Amendments • Gaps identified • Convergence of technology • To create certainty • Clean up the Act

  3. Important changes • Widens the objects of the Act • Widens definition of child pornography (child abuse) • Make provision for a proper Board (4A) • Provide for functions and powers of monitors (15A) • Clarify the roles of Chairperson vis-à-vis CEO (4A)

  4. Changes Continued • Substitution of Review Board with Appeal Board and provision for its powers and functions (5A) • Specifically include the regulation of cellphone content and interactive computer games (Section 32) • The right to appear restricted only to Appeal Board (Section 19 deleted) • Remove the exemption of the media and broadcasters from the provisions of this Act (Section 22)
