The Amur Tiger: Majestic Predator of the Harsh Siberian Wilderness
The Amur tiger, also known as the Siberian tiger, is a strikingly beautiful creature characterized by its golden-orange fur and distinctive black stripes. Adult males can weigh up to 600 lbs, while females can reach 500 lbs, both measuring about 10 to 9 ft in length, with a shoulder height of around 3 ft. These solitary animals thrive in cold, snowy environments and primarily hunt wild boar, deer, and elk. Sadly, the Amur tiger is endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts, like the "Save The Tiger Fund," aim to protect this magnificent species.
