Young Playwrights for Change: Bullying Playwriting Contest

Calling all middle school students with a passion for writing! The Rose Theatre invites you to enter the Young Playwrights for Change Competition. Submit your 10-minute plays centered on the theme of bullying by January 13th, 2014. Every participant receives free tickets to the Young Playwrights Festival, and the grand prize includes a production of your play and entry into a national competition in Washington, D.C.! Additionally, four winners will have a staged reading of their work. Teachers can compete for a free workshop. For more info, email jackiek@rosetheater.org or visit the website.

  1. Deadline for Entry: January 13th, 2014 Young Playwrights for Change Competition Enjoy being creative? Enjoy writing? Want to see your words come to life? Regional Playwriting Contest for Middle School Students The Rose Theatre is looking for 10 minute plays, about the subject of bullying! Everyone who enters receives free tickets to The Young Playwrights Festival at The Rose! One grand prize winner receives a production of their play in The Young Playwrights Festival and entry into the national competition (with a chance to go to Washington, D.C.)! Four winners receive a staged reading of their play at an event before or after The Young Playwrights Festival! TEACHERS:The class that submits the most entries wins a free playwriting workshop with award-winning playwright, Brian Guehring.
