  2. Brain Your brain can be found in your head, where it’s protected by your skull. It’s the boss of your body and controls just about everything you do, even when you’re asleep. Back

  3. Eyes The eyes are about as big as ping pong balls and sit in little hallow areas (the eye sockets) in the skull. Your eyelids provide one layer of protection for the front part of your eye. Your eyes tell your brain what you are seeing. Back

  4. Nose Your nose is in the middle of your face, of course! But the odor receptors that do the smelling are deeper inside your nose and head. Back

  5. Ears Your eyes are located on either side of your head. They are in charge of collecting sounds, processing them, and sending sounds signals to your brain. Back

  6. Hands Your hands are located at the end of your arms. They help you touch and hold different objects. You also have five fingers on each hand. Back

  7. Mouth Your mouth is located on the bottom of your face. Your mouth helps you speak to others and eat your food. Inside your mouth are your teeth. Your teeth help you chew your food. Back

  8. Heart and Lungs Your heart is really a muscle about the size of your fist. It’s located a little to the left of the middle of your chest. It helps pump your blood to the rest of your body. Your lungs take up most of the space inside of your chest. They aren’t the same size. Your left lung is a bit smaller, leaving space for your heart. Your lungs take in oxygen so we can breathe. Back

  9. Stomach Your stomach is attached to the end of the esophagus, the tube that food goes down when you eat. This stretchy, J-shaped sack works like a mixer, churning food into smaller pieces. Back

  10. Legs Your legs start at the bottom of your torso. At the end of your legs are your feet. Your legs bend and help you move around. Legs are the reason that we can walk, sit, and stand. Back

  11. Feet Your feet are attached to the ends of your legs. They help keep us balanced so we can stand and walk. On each foot, we have five toes. Back

  12. Arms Your arms are attached to the sides of your torso. At the end of each arm are your hands. Our arms bend, which allow us to carry objects and reach. Back
