  2. History of Edmonds Youth Ultimate • Since 1998 Madrona K-8 fields a team at the 1998 Spring Reign tournament • EW HS ultimate teams since 2002 • Terrace Park/Brier Terrace MS team since 2003 • Currently @ Madrona K-8 MS intramural lunch tournaments being held

  3. Benefits • Fun and aerobic • Appeals to a broad swath of Madronastudent • Artists • Scholars • Athletes • Reasonable cost • Club based • Emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and spirited competition • Lots of schools

  4. Building a Madrona Program • Build on existing interest • DiscNW grant jump starts the program – provide equipment, coaching stipend for first year • MIT endorses the Madrona Ultimate club • Once successful, MIT picks up financial support

MadronaUltimate 2010/2011 • Spring 2010, • shared practices with BTMS club every other week • Continue lunch time intramurals • Start after school ultimate for grades 5th-8thgirls and boys • Fall 2010 • Continue lunch and after school club • Spring 2011 • Madrona club team competes against other schools in DiscNW league and tournaments
