Spotting proper opportunities to pass while being guarded. • DIFF. between (offense and defense). • Types of passes to use pertaining to first activity. INTRODUCTION&SAFETY -PROPER ATTIRE -SAFE TEACHING AREA -RULES, TEACHER RULES -WHAT TO TEACH?! -WHAT SKILLS -EQUIPMENT SET-UP

ACTIVITY 1.AIMING & DIFFERENT TYPES OF PASSES -ACTIVITY 1 – AIMING GAME 1HULLA HOOP 1 FRISBEE 3 students 1 student holds hula hoops, which becomes aiming point for 2 passers w/ Frisbee. 1 pt. for making through hula hoop 2 pts. for making it through and other partner catches it. Students will rotate positions.

Activity 2.PassIng, Timing, & spotting right opportunities -Activity 2: Passing while being guarded 1 Frisbee Cones to mark boundaries 4 students 1 student starts with Frisbee at a cone, then passes to other teammate while both are being guarded. Student defending the thrower can’t be within arms reach. Students will rotate positions.

  5. Activity 3.Full On Ultimate Frisbee 1 Frisbee Groups of 6 students 3 v 3 Starts represent scoring areas 3 students against 3 others, to score a student must catch Frisbee inside the starred area.

Types of Passes • Overhand pass, Sidearm pass, Underhand pass, Backhand pass • Strength of pass, accuracy, form • Offensive Strategies • Seeing best opportunity to pass while being guarded • Cutting to open space while being guarded • Being deceiving, constantly moving to open area • Spatial Awareness • Proper body positioning • Communication with other teammates • Recognizing opposing players Skills -Types of Passes -Offensive Strategies -Spatial Awareness

  8. Boundary rules • Stars represent goal area • Change of possession every time Frisbee is dropped by one team. • Limited contact-sport • Thrower has 10 seconds to release Frisbee • Thrower can’t move, except with the use of a pivot foot Rules For Ultimate Frisbee 7 v 7 Safety and Boundaries

Safety Rules • Making sure students stay within their respected boundaries, so they don’t run into other students. • Implementing that it is a limited to no contact sport. • Making sure students don’t throw the Frisbee with too much force, so they don’t accidentally hit someone else around the area of learning. Assessment(s) • Checklist style assessment would work best… • Can they do an overhand, backhand, sidearm, or underhand? • Are they moving constantly, only at certain times, or not moving at all when trying to get open? • Are they using thinking strategies to determine the proper time to throw the Frisbee toward another teammate? • Threw to teammate while he was open? • Threw to teammate while guarded? • Led teammate to a different position to complete pass?
