The BowieBIC Role • To accelerate the growth of the existing knowledge–based, professional service firms in the City • To meet the development needs of a broad group of small and entrepreneurial enterprises built around the expertise and technology of federal organizations and laboratories near Bowie,(NASA, NSA and APL). • To help attract new, growth-oriented entrepreneurial businesses

Target Companies • The Bowie Business Incubator program is designed to attract entrepreneurial tenant and affiliate or non-tenant companies which reflect the composition of the existing business base in and around Bowie: • technology and professional service companies (including information technology, financial services and telecommunications- related firms) • government contractors • construction-related companies • home-based businesses • BSU-related companies

BowieBIC Program Business services will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each company, but they will include: • Business plan evaluation • Financial forecasting • Market research • Competitive analysis • Press and promotion support • Product definition • Partnership development • Presentation coaching

  5. BowieBIC Facility The proposed incubator facility for resident clients would offer: • Receptionist services (“meet and greet”, light copying) • Mail service (daily mail sorting and mail pick-up, overnight services available) • Parking for clients and their guests • Use of conference room(s) for meetings/presentations • Use of shared office equipment (TV/VCR, LCD projector, overhead projector) • Use of kitchen and lunch area (with microwave and refrigerator) • Company name listing on incubator directory • Press and promotion support • Utilities (electric, water and sewer service is provided seven days a week) • Company name listing at tenant’s office • Office cleaning and building security
