Project Pitching Meeting January 25th@ 11 AM Eastern/8 AM Pacific OFFERING FEEDBACK or EXPRESSING PREFERENCES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
Category: Business Process Innovation Issues Framework to Measuring AR’s Impact in the Enterprise
Problem this Research Would Address (1 of 2) • A barrier to widespread adoption of AR is a lack of uniform measurement framework to quantify its impact on Enterprise processes • PROBLEM: There isn’t an industry standard framework on how to construct a measurement protocol to quantify AR’s impact on the business.
Problem this Research Would Address (2 of 2) • A standard measurement protocol will address important questions like sampling, process measurement, acceptable error rates, comparison frameworks (”A/B tests”) and all elements that will enable comparisons AR & non-AR based approaches. This will give the methodologically sound ammunition for project leaders to minimize the risks of AR related business decisions.
Whose problem would be addressed? • Providers of enterprise wearable AR platforms would be able to more quickly/reliably • Quantify the impact of their solutions • Enterprise safety managers would • minimize error rates • Regulatory agencies or groups would • Trust the industry’s self regulatory drive
How would this research be conducted? (1 of 2) There are multiple ways to conduct this project depending on appetite and the volume of member research. Conduct research with research methodology designer (likely social scientist) Develop research methodology “playbook” describing dependent and independent variables, sampling strategies, measurement volume, data processing and communication best practices
How would this research be conducted? (2 of 2) • Review with Research Committee & Membership at Large • Obtain feedback • Ideally, the research project will produce: • A report • A “tool” or framework for assessment or to help implementers • A case study (public document 2-5 pages, demonstrates potential benefits of the research results)
Benefits to AREA Members • AREA members will be able to more quickly 1. • Drive adoption • Compare results (impact) across industries • Long term impacts of this research: drastically decrease risk associated with AR related decisions
