  1. ALS WorkManager Administration New User Accounts

  2. Creating New User Accounts Create new user: From the Editor Extra -> Admin Admin -> Users Edit -> Create Continue

  3. Complete User Information Table Note: set Comment field to: Default Project: AL Matthias's code reads this field and uses it to assign the default project string for print number and unique number allocation. For all ALS users, it will be AL so the above string is appropriate.

  4. Add User to Groups In addition to creating the user, you need to add him/her to one or more groups. At the least they should be added to ALS_Designer. If he will be self-approving, then he should also be added to the ALS_Approver group. Add the user to the to the ALS_Designer group Extra -> Admin Admin -> Users Edit -> Groups Double click on desired group Edit -> Add Users/Groups Confirm

  5. The ALS Sender Group We need to have the ability for authorized people to unreserve for others. The ALS_Sender group is used for this purpose (Sender for sending packets) To implement it, we created a group with the same name as each user and added the ALS_Sender to this group in addition to the user him/herself. As it turns out, this kind of gives us carte blanche in a lot of ways besides reserving/unreserving. But I think Nicholas enjoys that power, so we should continue this tradition.

  6. Create a group named after the user From the Editor: Extra -> Admin Admin -> Groups Edit -> Create Enter users name Select the user from the list Confirm This procedure creates a group with the users name and then puts the user in that group.

  7. Add the group “ALS_ Senders” to the group named after the user From the Editor: Extra -> Admin Admin -> Groups Double click on the group named after the user Edit -> Add Users/Groups Select “ALS_Senders Confirm Note: you can also add the “ALS_Senders” to the users group at the same time the users group is created. See previous slide.
