General Informations Aims and Objectives:Students should deepen their basic knowledge in mechanics by studying one field of sports be able to use java applets independently in order to gain profound knowledge about forces be able to use InLoT hard- and software and analyse the obtained data learn how to organise an experiment outside the classroom

  4. Educational Phase 1 Stimulation: 1 x 50 min presentation of selected photos of ski jumpers, pole vaulters,… giving some impressions of a ski jump training camp (video clips) discussion about accelaration and forces acting on ski jumpers

  5. Educational Phase 2 Scientific Prediction: 1 x 25 min Students should find out about the following: what forces can be exerted on people ? do an internet research and give examples of different accelarations of people how does the acceleration of a ski jumper change during the different phases of the jump

  6. Educational Phase 3 Experimental Activities 11 x 25 min Run the java applets in order to understand how vectors combine to form the resultant on inclined planes
