  6. SLO Notes Military Child Education Coalition [MCEC] Training CNIC has granted Navy Region Japan 3 MCEC trainings. Contract includes: lodging, transportation, meals during trainings, materials 1. Supporting Children through School Transitions: Foundations 50 Participants: guidance counselors, administrators, (teachers), community 2. Student 2 Studenttrains students and S2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of high school. 3. Junior Student 2 Student trains students and JS2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of middle school.

Councils & Committees Installation Advisory Committee Remaining dates for 2013-2014 school year: Thurs 1500 in C-2 16 January 27 March 29 May Japan District Advisory Committee Next VTC meeting 29 January 2013 Unanimous vote to forward marching band issue to AAC Area Advisory Committee Meeting Next VTC meeting 14 November 2013 Dependents’ Education Council Meeting Next meeting 11 December 2013 PRE-DEC held in October 2 CNRJ issues on agenda DEC. - universal PreK and extra/co-curricular activities support (marching band)

Old Business Bus Safe Havens- Concern was raised by DoDEA transportation regarding lack of identifiable safe havens for students out in town while on buses should there be an earthquake or other catastrophic event. Mr. Lindaman the CFAY Emergency Management Specialist has worked with local officials to identify approved havens. Tacit agreement in place. Requirement now for RADM Kraft’s approval. Item: Open
