The LSU Lab Safety Accreditation Program • Designed to improve overall safety and environmental performance • Defines an acceptable standard of performance • Overall awareness and performance will be • improved by: • Additional training and coaching • Pre-audits • Audits • Corresponding corrective action • Acknowledgement of success

Why Audits? • OSHA, EPA, DEQ, DHH, CDC, APHIS, DHS • STATE POLICE, FIRE MARSHALL, UTILITIES • Discover unsafe conditions that could result in injuries or environmental damage • Ensure conformance with LSU, EHS and Departmental policies, systems and procedures • Ensure conformance with the environmental, safety and health regulations of State and Federal agencies
