  2. What Can The Vertical Scale Do For You? A vertical scale allows scores to be compared across grade levels for a subject Useful for tracking a student’s progress in performance across years Performance standards (i.e. Met Standard and Commended) can be numerically compared across grade levels

  4. Aggregated Data • When aggregated, data can lose its value and misrepresent the situation. • Example: LISD 6th to 7th grade Average Growth = 21 Expected Growth = 33
