What is the EXPLORE test? • Published by ACT • A component of the ACT College and Career Readiness System • Designed to help eighth and ninth graders explore a broad range of options for their future. It prepares students not only for their high school coursework but for their post–high school choices as well.

  3. EXPLORE Part I • EXPLORE® contains four curriculum-based assessments: • English • Mathematics • Reading • Science • The assessment is based on the major areas of high school and postsecondary instructional programs and measures the skills and knowledge needed for college success.

  4. EXPLORE Part II • A career exploration component that stimulates students' thinking about future plans and relates personal characteristics to career options. • An interest inventory in which students indicate their personal interests

  5. EXPLORE Results • Assess academic progress • Provide an early indicator of college readiness • Help students understand and begin to explore a wide range of career options • Assist students in developing a high school coursework plan in preparation for achieving their post-high school goals

  6. EXPLORE helps students • Choose high school courses that will get them ready for college • Find careers that match their interests • Become aware of the subjects in which they need to improve • See which subjects are most important for certain careers

  7. When will my child take EXPLORE? • EXPLORE will be administered on Wednesday, October 24
