  1. My work experience at HEBP Jerome 6 July 2012

  2. What do I know about the HEBP ? Well….. Hounslow Education Business Partnership (HEBP) is a partnership between education, business and community organisations.here is the charity’s website http://www.hounslowebp.org.uk/ They have nine staff, all of whom are very good at their jobs.

  3. HEBP provides:- • Advice and guidance in relation to careers, training and personal development opportunities with the object of improving employability and to enable young people to reach their full potential so they will be better prepared for adult and working life; • Programmes to develop work-readiness – largely although not exclusively – in young people; • Programmes to engage disaffected young people, such as Hounslow’s engagement programme; The HEBP: • works with schools including: Gunnersbury Catholic School (my school), Brentford School for Girls, Heston and Chiswick community schools; • has 3 bases: an office in the EMC2 Clock Tower, an office in the GSK building and the Docking Station.

  4. What did I actually do while on work experience ? During my work experience I completed may tasks such as : • Filing • Making graphs on Microsoft Word • Cutting and grouping • Converting pdf files into Word documents • And of course completing Student Studio

  5. What skills have I developed during my placement ? How to use office equipment such as : • Printer • Scanner • Laminator • Phone • Guillotine I’ve also learnt how to : • Conduct myself in meetings • Communicate better with people • How to meet deadlines • How to plan journeys • Work appropriately in an office environment • How to follow instructions

  6. What have I enjoyed about my work experience ? • Meeting new people • Learning new things • Spending time with HEBP staff • Experiencing work in general

  7. Future goals 1.The sort of things that work experience has made me think about is : • How important getting a good education is • How hectic work life can be

  9. Has work experience helped me to decide what I want to do after I leave school? If yes what? NO

  10. What two careers am I thinking about for the future? • Legal work (e.g. lawyer, barrister ) • Estate agency
