  2. Task • In groups you are going to create a timeline of the Cold War using the website: www.tiki-toki.com • Sign up for a free account BUT REMEMBER! To input the class code: 245385-826885922 • Next go to the timeline, url: http://tinyurl.com/mrwe5oe • For each event, you must include a description of no more than 100 words! Try to explain what happened, the causes of the event and the consequences of that event.

Events to Include • Group 1: 1939-1945: Start of WW2, Key Battles and Turning Points, The Grand Alliance, Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam Conferences, End of WW2, Atomic Bomb. • Group 2: 1945-1949: Churchill’s Iron Curtain Speech, Soviet Occupation of Europe and Germany, Long Telegram, Novikov’s Telegram, Truman Doctrine, Marshall Plan, Paris Conference, COMINFORM, COMECON, Bizonia, Trizonia, Berlin Blockade, NATO, USSR Nuclear Weapon, China turns Communist. • Group 3: 1950s: Hydrogen Bombs, Warsaw Pact, Death of Stalin, Korean War, Hungarian Uprising, Khrushchev’s Secrey Speech, Geneva and Camp David Summits, U2 Incident, Sputnik-1, Cuban Revolution • Group 4: 1960s: JFK, Paris Conference, 1961 Geneva Conference, Berlin Wall, Bay of Pigs Invasion, Cuban Missile Crisis, Hotline, LTBT, MAD, France leaves NATO
