EcoCAT: Automotive Touch Screen System for Displaying Vehicle Data

This dash-mounted touch screen computer, EcoCAT, serves as the Automotive Human-Machine Interface (AHMI) for real-time display of vehicle information. The system aims to consolidate various data points, including fuel efficiency, emissions composition, historical data, and more. Priced competitively below $1,200, EcoCAT features a 7" touch screen running on a Windows XP platform with LabVIEW GUI. It communicates with the CAN controller via a CAN hub, ensuring efficient data parsing and reading. The system is designed for safe operation in high-temperature environments without a fan and supports seamless power on/off handling triggered by vehicle signals. Future work includes HIL testing, EcoCAR integration, and vehicle installation discussions.
