  1. Macbeth in pictures! Which scene from Macbeth is this? How can you tell? What is unusual about it?

  2. Productions and interpretations • Stage productions interpret plays. They take a play and present it in a way that brings out selected ideas in the play. • They may wish to explore an idea, like power, or bring out connections that the play has with our own world. They may use props and costumes from our own time, for example.

  3. Activity For each of the following slides, answer these questions: • Which part of the story of Macbeth is being told? • Who are the characters in the picture? • What are the key visual features here? • How has this production interpreted the play?
