  27. Summary • In anovulatory women with : • normal LH levels only exogenous FSH is needed for follicle maturation • extremely low LH levels both exogenous FSH and LH are needed for normal follicle development

CONCLUSIONS (1) • Final follicle maturation is dependent on both gonadotrophins • The role of FSH and LH is different in the spontaneous and the FSH superovulated cycles • Each follicle has two thresholds (recruitment-selection and growth) • Manipulation of FSH thresholds can affect the final number of follicles
