Learn how to navigate the building and locate important places like the guidance office and bathrooms. Knowing your way around will help you feel comfortable and enable you to assist others. Use your school map and enjoy discovering the wood shop, courtyards, and more! Work respectfully with your team to complete the worksheet in about 30 minutes, and make the most of your orientation experience!

  2. Getting to Know LASS • What are some of the key rooms in your school? • Cafeteria • Main Office • Library • Computer Labs • Gym • Bathrooms • Guidance Office • Department Offices • Classrooms

  7. A few REALLY important places Where do you go when you have to go?

  8. Knowing Your Way Around • Why is it important to know your way around the school? • Feel comfortable in the building • Know where all these cool places are • Help others find their way • Get to class on time!

  9. Finding Your Way • What could you do if you cannot find your way around LASS? • Ask a friend or fellow student for help • Ask a teacher, counsellor, administrator • Use your school map

  10. Time to Have Some Fun! • Today you are going to get familiar with LASS through a little exploration • You will be working in small groups so you can help each other and have fun

  11. School Orientation Activity • Group members will work together to locate key rooms around the school and answer questions on a worksheet

  12. Activity Guidelines • You will have approximately 30 minutes in which to complete this activity • You are to be quiet and respectful of others as you work • You will return to class or go to the library promptly when time is up (confirm with your teacher) • Have fun!
