    3. Getting Started

    4. Early Decision Making and Communication Late December/early January. Form a scheduling team: Administrators, Data Manager, Counselors, School Scheduler. Can be done by the end of the current school year. Early decision making and communication: Early Administrative decision making in reference to school set up and scheduling set up for next year plays a critical role in a successful scheduling experience for the school. The Administrator(s), Data Manager, Counselor(s), and School Scheduler should begin communications as early as December of the current school year in order to create a schedule skeleton for the next school year. Once the decision making process for determining courses to be offered next years is in place, the finalization of the Pre-Scheduling steps should be completed and the course selection process should begin to take place. Communication within the scheduling team and concise decision making could allow the school to release next years student schedules before the end of the current school year. With early decision making, schools are given the opportunity to save both time and money as well as permit more time for fine tuning of the school schedule.
