About the TLACC The Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce (TLACC) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Middle Tennessee, and is an inclusive organization that welcomes all interested members of our community. The TLACC’s vision is to be the leading voice on business issues relating to the Latin community across Tennessee. The TLACC provides members with the leadership and support required to create opportunities for Latin companies and individuals, while also opening new markets for non- Latino organizations willing to become engaged with the Latino communities. The TLACC establishes programs that advance achievement in education, healthcare, and business development in the Latino communities.

TLACC’s Accomplishments: • Highly successful member luncheons provide a platform for our major sponsors and members to address attendees. • Guest speakers to TLACC luncheons have included Javier Palomarez-president of the USHCC, Governor of Tennessee, Bill Haslam, Brent Wilkes, Executive Director of the League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and Esther Aguilera, President & CEO of Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), among others. • Junior Board Members were elected from TLACC’s FUTURO education program for the purpose of mentoring young Latinos in the service area.

TLACC’s Accomplishments: (cont.) • TLACC hosts workshops for our members to gain insight and knowledge on issues and programs that can help advance their businesses. • TLACC Education Program FUTURO continues to grow in Middle TN universities bringing together more than 100 Latino college students. • Members enjoyed a taste of Puerto Rico and Cuba at two Tour of Latin America events held at Salsa Restaurant and Guantanamera Restaurant in Nashville.

  10. FUTUROis a professional organization that provides its student membership with structured, career-specific mentoring to help students navigate their way from college to career. It is an inclusive group primarily for Latino college students of Middle Tennessee colleges and universities. FUTURO is a program of the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce. WhatisthepurposeofFUTURO?The program provides students with opportunities for professional development, community and leadership development, mentorship, internships, and networking. WhatarethebenefitsofFUTURO?FUTURO intentionally measures beneficial outcomes for students, college and employer partners. FUTUROʼs value proposition of collaborative partnership is increased student engagement, retention, graduation and career placement.

  11. Cultural Fusion - A language and culture outreach program. The program presents the Spanish language and Latino cultures in a fun yet professional manner. Each session covers basic vocabulary and structure and engages participants in a hands-on activity. Each session alternates a country or region of focus and addresses cultural topics. Cultural Fusion is a program designed for companies who wish to offer it to their employees as an internal program.

  12. ¡QUE TAL! and ROUND ABOUT! are small networking meetings to give our members and potential members the opportunity to present information about their business and learn about others. Each company has five minutes to make a presentation and distribute materials.

  13. ¡ELLA! A Women in Business Program of TLACC. Recognizing that the fastest growing segment of new businesses and entrepreneurs in the USA are those lead by Latin women, TLACC now offers women business owners and entrepreneurs a chance to participate and receive in-kind and cash awards to help them take their businesses to the next level.
